Dr. Scott Smith,
Director

Dr. Scott Smith was born in the Blackfoot area, graduating from Snake River High School.  He furthered his education with a Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho and a second Bachelors degree from Logan University in Saint Louis, Missouri.  He finished school with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree and a Masters Degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation in 2013.

He left private practice in 2017 to become the executive director of the Bingham Crisis Center, where he continues to lead. He earned the Business Management Award Logan College of Chiropractic in 2013 and was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Leadership in the Idaho nonprofit sector in 2023.  He was presented with the Hero Award by his Board of Directors for his fiscal oversite in paying off the Crisis Center’s building in 2022.

Scott is inspired daily by his wife, Jamie, and their two children.  In his spare time, he enjoys learning new things, doing projects around the house, and relaxing with his family.

Anna Navarro

Anna L. Navarro was born and raised in Blackfoot and graduated with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Idaho State University in 2011.  She is fluent in English and Spanish, working with the Hispanic community in the Blackfoot area since 2012.  She has been with the Bingham Crisis Center since 2020, making it her personal mission to make everyone feel heard and understood. “Mi misión es hacer que todos se sientan escuchados y comprendidos.” In her spare time, she enjoys watching Telenovelas, going shopping and spending time with her family.

Josephine Thyberg

Josephine Thyberg was born and raised in Blackfoot. She met her husband and have been married for 36 years with two children. Family is the most important thing to Josephine, and she works diligently to make sure all her family is taken care of.

Josephine has been working for the Bingham Crisis Center for more than 31 years. She first started as a Volunteer and is now the Assistant Director.  She specializes in Protection Order assistance and Court advocacy.  

Shayna Norton

About Shayna:

Shayna received her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree in 2015 from Northcentral University, starting her career in addiction treatment. Shayna is passionate about working in this field and believes in taking a person-centered approach to the treatment of substance use disorders and mental health illness. She strives to help improve her clients’ lives through DBT, relapse prevention, and exposure therapy which allows her to individualize treatment based on the client’s needs. She has worked with the Bingham Criss Center since 2019 and is dedicated in helping clients learn skills necessary to break the cycle of abuse.
